Architectural Design and Engineering Academy Overview
Students will take the first course of Drafting & Design 1, and will learn the skills to operate AutoCAD and SolidWorks Software. Two of the most popular CADD packages used in the industry, AutoCAD and SolidWorks, are utilized in the classroom to create drawings and models. After students completed their first year, they are to choose between Architectural or Engineering Drafting. Their choice of Drafting tracks will guide the students though different Industry Certifications.
The Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) program at Auburndale High School prepares students to use CADD technology to design and evaluate engineering drawings for production of a project. The program is also designed to provide the critical link between the design engineering process and manufacturing through the understanding of design principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
