Bartow Criminal Justice Academy Overview

The Bartow Senior Criminal Justice Academy is a multi-year program. Upon graduation, students will have the necessary skills and certifications for employment or continued education in the criminal justice industry.

Students will explore academic and career information in law enforcement, courts and corrections. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take part in mock trials and police explorer programs.

By graduation, students will be prepared for post-secondary education and/or a career.

Academy Components

  • Classes taught by certified instructors
  • Hands-on training through classroom work, laboratories and simulations
  • Academy uniform worn to school on designated days
  • Field trips to local criminal justice and law facilities
  • Law and criminal justice professionals as guest speakers and mentors

Participate in FPSA

Florida Public Service Association (FPSA) is a student organization whose mission is to provide career opportunities in the criminal justice field. Students can compete in approximately 20 events at the local and state levels.

Earn College Credit

Through an agreement with Polk State College, students can earn up to 9 credit hours which equals a savings of approximately $900.

Gold Seal Scholarship

Qualified students are eligible to receive the Gold Seal Scholarship which may pay a significant percentage of tuition and fees to Florida public colleges, universities and career centers.
