Cambridge Pre-AICE Overview

The Cambridge curriculum is taught in over 160 countries worldwide. In 1994, the Cambridge PRE-AICE program was first introduced to the United States. Denison is the only University of Cambridge Centre for PRE-AICE in Polk County. The Cambridge Pre-AICE Program will also prepare a student to enter the Cambridge AICE Program at Winter Haven High School. Cambridge courses are demanding pre-university courses that emphasize higher order thinking skills, oral skills, writing skills, problem solving, teamwork and investigative skills. Highly motivated students who excel academically and are well rounded in their extracurricular activities will be attracted to this program. This program introduces students to a rigorous academic experience. The program is standards-based and students will be compared to students around the globe. Classroom assessments are designed to prepare students for the competitive and demanding nature of the required written papers of Cambridge. Course grades are an indicator of potential performance on these written papers. Student applications for the Cambridge Pre-AICE Program can be picked up in the Denison Middle School Main Office.
