Law Week 2012
For much of the year, the Polk County Courthouse witnesses a steady parade of lawyers, judges, defendants and victims, as well as jurists and court employees who fill its hallways and court rooms. During the week of May 3, 2012, however, high school students from the debate teams at Tenoroc High School and the Academy of Legal Studies at George Jenkins High School joined the professionals as they participated in Law Week 2012. Judge Wayne Durden presided over the event. Attorneys Nicholas Troiano and Joe Parrish assisted as guest judges.
A regular debate schedule is in the planning stages for Fall 2012, which will include both the Bartow International Baccalaureate and Haines City International Baccalaureate programs
If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the future of this debate forum, please contact the Academy of Legal Studies Lead Teacher, Tina Balentine.
