Academy of Medical Sciences Overview
High School students in the Traviss Medical Academy will be introduced to various healthcare careers in preparation for a healthcare certification or post-secondary health career education. This program provides an opportunity to obtain valuable National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certifications. Choices include Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician certification and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification. Educational requirements necessary for Home Health Aides are included in the curriculum. In addition, all students enrolled in the Academy will be offered CPR certification. Education in the Biomed Program offers students an academically challenging entry into the field of BIO-Technology with up to date investigative medical technologies and an opportunity to earn college credits.
Transportation is available to students zoned for the following high schools – Fort Meade, Bartow, Mulberry, Lakeland, Kathleen, Lake Gibson, Tenoroc & Auburndale.
