Gause is a community-driven, technology based career academy committed to preparing students for postsecondary education and high-skill careers. Gause provides a small learning community built around a career/technology theme that will enable students to see relationships among academic subjects and their application to a broad field of work. The program is designed to guarantee that all students succeed and that they leave Gause with the skills needed to transition into careers, post-secondary programs and adulthood. Gause is unique in that it offers a Pre-Academy and a High School Academy on one campus.
iBiz's sixth grade class is heavily involved in technology and project-based learning. Cloud computing is emphasized as students are exposed to a variety of technology related units including:
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Publisher
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- The Internet & Safety
- Computer Hardware
- Digital Photography/Photo Editing
- Basic Programming
With their computer foundations firmly in place, students will transition to the 7th grade Pre Academy Program which centers around Cartoon Animation. Students will learn how to use Adobe Flash to create animations.
Students in their third year of the Pre-Academy will learn Video Game Design using Dark Basic.
As students transition into the high school academy, Gause Academy of Converging Technology, they will be continuing their technology study in the Introduction to Information Technology course. Students will be prepared to participate in Industry Certification Exams as well as dual enrollment college courses in technology.
